A series of lighthearted images playing with the theme of 'Demonic Possession' ! Exploring a few alternative ideas about a mischievous / malevolent demon or spirit taking over random animals, plants or objects. All executed in-between commissions as a fun project. I also used the project as an exercise in playing with symmetry and illustrating / designing to a square format, rather than the usually more forgiving traditional rectangle. I'm sure there will be more images to follow on the same theme as I enjoyed playing with this idea - the more surreal the possession the better - my favorite so far has to be possessed cactus !
Yeti Demon Ghost
I thought it would be fun to create a few promotional images to celebrate the wonderful world of Japanese Kaiju. Godzilla has always been my favorite movie creature feature and remains so to this day. I thoroughly enjoyed Gareth Edwards treatment of Godzilla, but I don't think any amount of sophisticated cgi will ever come close to being as memorable as when portrayed by actor Haruo Nakajima in a rubber suit in the original Godzilla (Godzilla, King of the Monsters!) movie, directed by Director Ishirō Honda.
A series of illustrations originally commissioned for Halloween party invitations, then expanded to feature images inspired by the iconic imagery from the classic Universal Studios & Hammer Horror movies - plus, an influence from the range of 1960's self assembly AURORA plastic model kits and their wonderfully kitsch cover art by James Bama.
The aim was to create highly stylised affectionate character illustrations to celebrate the genre as opposed to realistic portraits of the actors associated with these roles
Included are... Plus the obligatory pumpkin, the Grim Reaper, a Ghost and the Man in the Moon - with apologies to Georges Méliès!

Radio Times Livery
Radio Times Christmas Cover. I was delighted to be asked to design the Christmas cover and page livery. A fascinating project to tackle as the brief was slightly tricky - "Big Santa" being the cover theme. Also complicated by the fact that the LHS half of the cover was to be hidden with a fold over promotional sheet. A truly rewarding project to be involved in.
